São Pedro Church

Igreja de São Pedro

Its construction began in 1590. However, it went through several changes and was only completed in 1743 with the construction of the altar.

The inside of the church is decorated with 17th century tiles that cover nearly all the walls of the nave, chancel and sacristy.

The late 17th century carved wood altars are especially noteworthy.

The church is decorated with paintings, gold and silver objects as well as furniture dating from the 17th, 18th, 19th and 20th centuries.
