This chapel dates from the 15th century and is one of the few 15th century buildings still standing today, although it has been modified many times since then.
It was built in honour of São Pedro Gonçalves Telmo, patron saint of fishermen, and at times it also served as an infirmary for fishermen and their families.
The architecture of the building is in the gothic-mannerist style, and the chancel is decorated with paintings depicting the life of the saint.
